- TexITE, District 9 of the Institute of Transportation Engineers
(ITE), is a professional organization of individuals employed in the
field of transportation or pursuing study therein, who share a
common interest in improving the quality of the surface transportation
system in Texas.
- ITE an international, individual-member educational and scientific
association. ITE is one of the largest and fastest-growing multi-
modal professional transportation organizations in the world.
ITE members are traffic engineers, transportation planners and other
professionals who are responsible for meeting society's needs for
safe and efficient surface transportation through planning, designing,
implementing, operating and maintaining surface transportation
systems worldwide.
- TexITE has six sections each of which consists of certain Texas
counties. The smaller area and shorter travel distance allows for
more frequent meetings and participation from a variety of
transportation and non-transportation disciplines. You are currently
in the Houston District's webspace.
- ITE and its geographical Districts, Sections, and Chapters provide
different levels of membership participation. Affiliation with a Chapter
or Section affords individuals the opportunity to attend local-area
meetings and explore the benefits of becoming a member of
International ITE. TexITE encourages all such individuals to invest in
their careers by becoming a member of International ITE. All ITE
member and TexITE affiliates are encouraged to be active in
our various technical activities and by serving in a leadership
role.
