The Program Committee is excited to announce the 2021 TexITE Webinar Series! We will be partnering with Texas sections to host monthly webinars which will provide each section an opportunity to share section news and highlights from the past and upcoming year with members both within and outside their sections. The webinar series will also allow members who submitted abstracts for the cancelled Spring Meeting to present and provide continuing education options to TexITE members, free of charge.

Below is the current schedule but please check back here for additional updates as we finalize details. We will send out registration links via email in advance of each webinar. Please add news@texite.org to your address book to ensure you receive the registration notifications.

Women of TexITE: Stop the Leaky Pipe

The term “Leaky Pipe” was taken from a LeadershipITE class project, which examined the reasons why people are leaving the transportation industry. The research for the project revealed that there are more women leaving the industry than men, and for different reasons. During this webinar, we will discuss with our panelists some of the reasons and solutions to keep women in the industry.

Panelists:
Alisa S. Max, P.E., ENV SP, Harris County Engineering Department
Kay Fitzpatrick, Ph.D., PE, Texas A&M Transportation Institute
Mark Ingram, PE, PTOE, Alliance Transportation Group
Kerin Smith, P.E., City of Frisco

Also, a reminder that TSPELS is offering these free ethics webinars to assist license holders with meeting their ethics requirement. Each webinar provides an up-to-date overview of agency activities, case studies, and a review of professional ethics topics. Additional information can be found here.

We are looking forward to connecting with each of you virtually until we can meet again in-person! If you have any questions, please contact TexITE Vice President, Erin Eurek at vicepresident@texite.org.
