The Women of TexITE is a committee within the Texas ITE district that is focused on diversity and inclusion. Our committee’s goal is in line with the Women of ITE subcommittee of ITE international:
- Who are we? The Women of ITE Sub-Committee fosters gender inclusion amongst transportation professionals and the communities we serve through testimony and research.
- Our Goals are to make it easier to talk about gender inclusion and to find successes that can be replicated by ITE, workplaces, and in designing infrastructure for communities.
MEMBERSHIP INTEREST & FOCUS
The Women of TexITE fosters gender inclusion amongst transportation professionals and the communities we serve through testimony and research. It is NOT our goal to exclude any members, regardless of gender. Our goal specifically is to provide a space where inclusion can be discussed among members. The goal is to make sure that we can socialize and share lessons learned on how to be more involved in ITE leadership or other issues. ALL members are invited to join.
EVENTS & INFORMATION
The Women of ITE international have monthly meetings, via Webex, with an information crusade that contributes to safe, equal opportunities in the transportation profession and the communities we serve. If our members would like, they could be a part of this committee, but it is not required. The website provides great blogs on different topics which are aimed at improving management and leadership opportunities for all.
